The Sailing GPS has been built from the ground up to address sailboat navigation (patent pending).
The industrial design has involved building the electronics from scratch, and designing and molding a handheld waterproof case.
Not to mention software programming from creating our own operating system to control the electronics components,
to adapting the core SailTimer software to do something amazing within the constraints of a microprocessor.
The Sailing GPS was developed in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada by a very talented R&D team led by Craig Summers, Ph.D.
Summers previously produced The Cruising DVDs, an interactive cruising guide that is the only series covering the entire historic route from
the coast of Florida across the Gulf Stream, through The Bahamas, The Turks & Caicos, The Virgin Islands, and into The Caribbean.
